A REFINED DESIGN SHAPED BY ITS CONTEXT
Under Construction: The Garden House in Newtown, Geelong
Introducing our latest project, The Garden House, currently under construction in the heart of Newtown, Geelong.
Newtown is known for its beautifully preserved period homes, tree-lined streets, and strong sense of community. Respecting the heritage style of the neighbourhood, this particular Garden House represents a thoughtful evolution of our 'limited edition' approach to harmonise with the surrounding streetscape.
It’s a bespoke response to the architectural language of Newtown, ensuring this home feels like it truly belongs. The Garden House, designed by Auhaus Architecture, is a modern interpretation of classic design elements – featuring a peaked roof, timber detailing, and a soft, neutral palette that sits comfortably within the existing streetscape.
Like all Lifespaces Group homes, this home will feature open-plan living spaces, an abundance of natural light, seamless indoor-outdoor integration, and high-performance materials that ensure long-term comfort and sustainability.
Laid out in a classic courtyard arrangement, the Garden House is the sixth limited edition design from the Auhaus Release. It is a single level offering with living spaces positioned to capture dual garden aspects, and the house opens up onto a private central courtyard as well as a rear deck.
Inside, lofty ceilings throughout the main corridor and rear living and dining areas amplify the sense of space and connection to the outdoors.
Inspired Facade To Fit Its Newtown Streetscape
Differing from the standard elements of the Garden House design, the facade of the home has been adapted to meet heritage requirements including a feature peaked roof on the left of the home, an additional window on the frontage of the house, and removed batoned screen entry, allowing the house to feel open to the street.
The subdued, soft colour palette is achieved with our ghost grey bricks by Krause and Australian Sustainable Hardwoods’ Ironash timber cladding.
The facade is completed with the heritage style batoned front fence, in line with the neighbouring homes.
